Run a test before you need the alarm
- Set an alarm a few minutes ahead and choose a sound you can recognize.
- Check the dedicated Alarm volume and any permission prompts in BlockWake.
- Lock the phone and wait for the alarm to ring; do not leave the app open as your only test.
- Check that you can see the time and complete the selected Stop action.
- Remove the test alarm after it rings.
If you use gradual volume, listen long enough to hear it rise. If you build an Alarm Set with multiple alarms, review each generated time and repeat day before the first overnight use.
Reliability depends on the phone, too
An app cannot ring while the phone is powered off, and force-stopping an app or restricting its operation may stop scheduled alarms. Android behavior can differ by device and software version. Built-in guidance reduces guesswork, but no alarm app can promise delivery under every system state.
